Imagine living in the ancestral land of the Masai on a millennium old migration route, home to the largest and most spectacular wildlife migration in the world. Your time will be spent in four primary ways: connecting with Masai and Kipsigi people, experiencing the natural world of the Masai Mara, hands-on service to community and group conversation.
We have partnered with Free the Children, and their social enterprise company Me to We, who have brought overseas guests to Africa for many years. They know how to set the stage so you will fully experience all that Africa offers. Your adventure will be impeccable in every detail and promises to be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
Program Components include
- Conversations with local elders, women leaders and communities
- Education and participation in Free the Children’s hands-on work in a traditional Masai village
- One-on-one "walk about" with your personal Masai warrior
- 4 Star accommodations in Nairobi
- A beautiful eco-retreat center in the Kenyan Savannah;
- Close encounters with animals at two different wildlife refuges
- Two nights and safari at the 5 Star Fairmont Mara Safari Club
- Unique program design and facilitation by David & Kathy geared to fun, magic, meaningful dialogue and camaraderie
This trip is different than any other trip you could go on. There are no other trips where I could be welcomed into the home of a community leader or by hundreds of Masai into their village, or build relationships with warriors in a week - period!
Kenya brings out the best of everyone. The experience seems to dig deeper and deeper in my soul, heart and mind as time goes by.
The Setting
Bogani Cottages and Tented Camp: is a beautiful eco-retreat center in the Masai Mara. This is where we will explore the beauty and inspiration that is Africa. Rustic yet luxurious, the camp boasts all the comforts of home in a uniquely African design. The comfortable accommodations will be perfect for your journey as we sit on African soil, meet Masai warriors, see wandering herds of zebra and elephants and settle into the rhythms of the African landscape.
Kathy & David, you succeeded beyond my expectations. You helped bridge the cultural divide, preparing us for each experience. To have so much time with our Maasai warriors - so knowledgeable, wise and fun - was a real privilege.

One of the most profound aspects of your trip in Kenya is the opportunity for cross-cultural exchanges with local communities. We will participate in school building and tree planting and learn about Free the Children’s four pillars of change that are empowering the local people of the Masai Mara. Time on the land is another way to explore Kenya and it’s extraordinary natural heritage. You will hike with your own Masai Warrior, go on safari with local guides, and live in the beautiful natural surroundings of the Bogani cottages and tented camp. Your days will be full of adventure, activity and rich conversation.
An amazing experience, connecting with self, group and Kenya. Thank you; I feel altered in a good way!
Kathy & David are a dream team! I learned and experienced so much - the trip was so sensitively and thoughtfully planned. I will be forever grateful for the time in this beautiful spot of this complex country of Kenya.
